First of all I want to say hello to everyone on this forum :) I have also a request to translate my topic into lithuanian language in order to ability to answer for everybody on this site.

I hope this is a right place for my topic. My problem is how to recognize false coins from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia between 1918-1940. These coins really have souls, but I couldn't find any tips for recognition false ones (and please tell me which coins have false equivalent and which ones wasn't faked). I wish for some general tips how to detect false coin and also for every single coin separately. Pictures could be great thing for me also.

Thank You in advance for Your answers ;)
Regards
MateuszK

The problem with this topic is that people (the bad guys) who are making these fake coins, also read forums like this one. So the more details we provide on how to identify fake coins, the more information these bad guys get on how to improve in producing better quality forgeries...

There are many tips about understanding our coins. I know, that it's in lithuanian, but maybe online translators will help you.

One more thing - is it necessary to measure weight, width and thickness or the false coin could be recognized without that?
