Šiek tiek įdomesnės info apie auksinius olandų (rusų) dukatus:
What most people don’t know is that the Russians made perfect copies of the Dutch ducats at the time largely due to the fact that the Dutch coins were accepted without question world wide. The Russians used these ducats for trade and even paid their own troops with them. They actually minted a few proofs, intended as presentation coins, which are worth quite a bit these days.
There are only two differences between a gold ducat minted in the Netherlands and a ducat minted in St. Petersburg, Russia.
First, the second and fourth arrows in the knights left hand are shorter on the Russian coins.
Second, the E in BELGII and LEGEM are level on the Russian coin, while on the Netherlands version they are tilted slightly to the left.
We believe this ducat was minted in St. Petersburg, Russia. Most of these ducats, both Dutch and Russian, are normally found in VF or lower condition due to heavy circulation. It’s rare to find one above XF and even rarer to find an AU specimen.
